R100 is focused on hard-to-reach rural areas rather than the capital, but it reflects the scale of national investment in Scottish fibre infrastructure.
Edinburgh-based altnet GoFibre is also active across Scotland, building full fibre in the Scottish Borders, East Lothian, and North East Scotland under a £105m Project Gigabit contract. GoFibre does not currently serve Edinburgh city centre, but its expansion shows how competitive Scotland's fibre market has become.
